What is your teaching assignment at Wright?
I am the Social Media Manager for WCA and help out our teachers as an elementary aide. I am also in charge of the yearbook and school picture day.
What brought you to Wright?
My husband, Craig Wills, graduated from Wright in 1997 and started teaching here while we were dating (2003). I have been around Wright for many years! I did not start my employment at Wright until 2014. At the time, I was a stay at home mom with our second born. When there was a need for a yearbook advisor, my name was brought up. That first year I worked on the yearbook while continuing to be a stay at home mom. The following year I was brought on as a part time elementary aide and to teach the yearbook class. And in 2018 I became a full time elementary aide and started running the social media for the school.
What was your first-ever job?
I worked as a cashier and fabric cutter at Hobby Lobby.
What do you do in your spare time/special interests/hobbies?
I love spending time with my family! 🙂 I love to read…Nicholas Sparks and YA fiction novels are some of my favorites. I love to create/craft…over the years I have done scrapbooking, jewelry making, cardmaking, hairbows and headbands, crochet, tshirts, tutus, soaps and bath bombs, paper flowers, scrunchies, and more! I love to take pictures and practice my photography. I love music and I love to sing! You can almost always find me singing (or dancing) along to a song, my brain thinks in song lyrics, and I like almost all genres of music. I currently serve on our church praise team. I sing alto but only because I think the harmony is fun, I really have more of a soprano range. I have recorded multiple CDs with our church praise team and also with the Praise and Harmony Acapella company. My most recent recording with P&H was this past January and in July a few of us plan to head to another recording in Decatur. I like to bake (mostly so I can eat it!). And three years ago I started taking adult dance classes! I enjoy jazz and hip hop and hope to add ballet one day.
Guiding scripture of spiritual thought:
One of my favorite verses is Psalm 46:5
God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
What else do you want the WCA Community to know about you?
Craig and I have been married for almost 15 years (in May). We have two children that attend Wright. Our daughter, Emberlee, is 12 and in her first year of middle school. And our son, Oliver, is 7 and in second grade. Our daughter has been involved with dance since she was 3 and does competitive dance. I love being a dance mom! Our son enjoys playing baseball and basketball. I also love being a sports mom! Family and community are so important. We are blessed to be surrounded by amazing communities in many aspects of our life with our school, our church, and our dance studio!
