Meet Mrs. Heather Young

Name:

Heather Young

What is your teaching assignment at Wright?

Librarian/Elem Teacher’s Aide, Elem Spanish teacher, and 3rd-5th grade computer teacher

Education:

BS in Business Administration with a concentration on management

What brought you to Wright?

The warm welcoming family atmosphere we felt as we toured the school.  Mostly that started with the initial phone call with Mrs. Marcia Brown made to the school requesting information.

What was your first-ever job?

Lifeguard at my local swimming pool which also included teaching swimming lessons as a teenager to the 2-3-year-old age group.  After I graduated from college I was a computer technician at Oral Roberts University.

What do you do in your spare time/special interests/hobbies?

I love to read and spend time with my family.  During the summer I love to visit my family in Pennsylvania and help my dad unload hay wagons.

Guiding scripture of spiritual thought:

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

What else do you want the WCA Community to know about you?

I am originally from Pennsylvania and moved to this land of Oklahoma a couple of days after I graduated from college to start my job at ORU where I met my husband.  We have been married for 22 years in April. Both of our two children graduated from Wright (Zachery in 2016 and Johanna in 2019). This school has become my second home. I consider each of you my extended family and I love and adore all of you.
