Meet Mrs. Nicole Brookman

Name:

Nichole Brookman

What is your teaching assignment at Wright?

1st grade

Education:

Bachelor in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Oklahoma Christian University

What brought you to Wright?

God dropped this job in my lap.  I was not looking for a job because my youngest son, Reid, was still very young.  Jeremiah 29:11…he knows the plans for me.

What was your first-ever job?

Babysitting as a tween, and then I was a cashier at a grocery store when I turned 16.

What do you do in your spare time/special interests/hobbies?

In my spare time I like to take naps.  Only kidding, a little. I love to read, but find that I’m able to mostly listen to audiobooks with the business of life. If I had all the time in the world I would travel.  My husband and I like to go to new places together.

Guiding scripture of spiritual thought:

My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11.  It reminds me that I don’t have to worry about anything.  God is in control and he knows EXACTLY what my future holds.  In the verse it says “…plans to give you hope…” I cling to the word “hope” many days.  Without hope, there is nothing.

What else do you want the WCA Community to know about you?

I love being here.  It is truly the best job I’ve ever had.  Teaching first grade here is such fun. It is so great to watch a child learn to read.  When that lightbulb clicks on, it’s magical. The people here are amazing. My two boys, Ryan, 11, and Reid, 7, love it here and are thriving.  We are so blessed to call WCA home.
