Meet Mrs. Whitney Breiland

Name:

Whitney Breiland

What is your teaching assignment at Wright?

School Counselor and 6th/7th Grade Girls Bible class.

Education:

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Oral Roberts University.

What brought you to Wright?

After taking a school tour, I told my husband that this is the kind of school that I would want our children to attend. WCA’s mission is clear and the people here are authentic and kind.

What was your first-ever job?

My first job out of graduate school was working in private practice mental health counseling. I worked with individuals, couples, and families and was honored to walk through challenging situations with my clients.

What do you do in your spare time/special interests/hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my husband, Chris, and our two-year-old daughter, Charlotte. I appreciate a great cup of coffee, reading any and all books, gardening, cooking, and podcasts.

Guiding scripture of spiritual thought:

“Mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.” – Jude 1:2

What has been the funniest or most memorable moment of your school year so far?

I would say the funniest moment (so far!) has been when several of my 6/7 Girls Bible students tried to convince me to give Mr. Breiland’s Hamilton ticket to them instead. I declined, but they were certainly ready with some creative arguments!
