Senior Spotlight: Matthew Borrell

Matthew Borrell

How long have you attended Wright Christian Academy?

9 years

What is your favorite subject/class and why?

I have always enjoyed Drama and English, getting to create characters and stories up have always been something I’ve loved doing.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I often will play some video games or read. I also work on a story I’ve been working on for a few years and play Role Playing games like DnD.

What are your plans after high school?

I don’t have that much planned at this moment, other than I hope to get into the voice acting field and also keep acting in general. I also hope to get to work at a zoo.

What impact do you wish to leave on Wright Christian Academy?

I want to leave an impact and show others they don’t have to pretend to be someone they are not, they can just be themself and not be worried about it. I dealt with this for years and only recently got over that fear and want to help others not deal with what I brought upon myself.

During these unprecedented and different times we are in due to the COVID virus, what is one thing that has brought you encouragement?

Being able to talk to my friends and family whenever, having things I can talk about to them, and just spending time with them. Role-Playing games online were especially good at getting me through the Quarantine.

Dedicate some of your life to others. Your dedication will not be a sacrifice. It will be an exhilarating experience because it is an intense effort applied towards a meaningful end. – David Ray Cox, my Grandfather
