Senior Spotlight: Sydney Cook

How long have you attended Wright Christian Academy?

6 years

What is your favorite subject/class and why?

Communications and senior practicum because I get to practice planning, leading, and designing; all things I want to do in college and when I’m in the workforce.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Due to being fully involved in sports and academics at wright I don’t have much free time, but when I do I love to explore Tulsa and find cute places! Downtown is one of my favorite places to go because so many unique coffee shops are down there and also some of my favorite photoshoot spots.

What are your plans after High School?

I’m attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. My plan is to major in Interior design and architecture, and minor in graphic design.

What impact do you wish to leave on Wright Christian Academy?

I hope that I am a good example to all underclassmen. I want to show that anyone can exceed in sports and academics while still being an active member of the WCA community. This year I have been honored to be President of NHS as well as the role of team captain. These leadership positions have made me grow as a person and student. I am so thankful for the time I’ve had at WCA.

During these unprecedented and different times we are in due to the COVID virus, what is one thing that has brought you encouragement?

Embracing the outdoors! I loved being in the sun while doing online school last year. And I have found a new love for hammocking. Aside from the outdoors I’ve held fast to my friends and normal school activities for some needed normalcy.
