Pre-K4

K4 at WCA lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning and discovery!
Our Pre-Kindergarten program is centered on preparing the students academically as well as developmentally for Kindergarten. This program is based on learning through play and hands-on activities.  Children that learn through play can build on skills such as empathy, encouragement, and language development; it also gives them space to solve their own problems.  Our goal is to work off of a student’s natural curiosity to learn how things work and learn how to solve problems.  We work with each child at their developmental level to help lay the foundation to become a strong lifelong learner.

Our Pre-kindergarten program is set up around a center-based learning style.  Our teacher recognizes the unique learning style of each individual student and chooses the curriculum and activities that integrate biblical principles and are developmentally appropriate for each child’s level and ability. The Pre-Kindergarten program works towards helping students learn to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

We offer the following enrichment programs in addition to our classroom curriculum. Physical Education (PE), Computers, Library Time, Art, and Music. We also bring several educational experiences into our classrooms (Police, Firemen, Tulsa Zoo, and stem geared programs).

We take two to four field trips a year.  Usually, in the Fall we visit the Tulsa Zoo and the Livesay Orchard Pumpkin Patch. We visit Ray Harral Nature Park in the spring and attend a Stephen Fite Show.
